Year two of the Redwood Empire Battle of the Fans is kicking off and ready to highlight the best student cheering sections in the NBL and SCL. To get enter your school in the contest, follow the steps below before the January 22th (noon) deadline.
- Film your students section. Get out the video camera and film your student section at a number of games.
- Post your video to YouTube. Edit your video to no more than three minutes and post to YouTube. Video must include at least 30 seconds of discussion about why your school has the best student section and how BOTF has impacted your school. Deadline to submit video is January 22th (noon).
- Email your link. Email your YouTube link to admin [at] Battle-of-the-Fans.com (link sends e-mail). It will be added to the playlist of other videos.
- Final Judging. Two finalists will be chosen from each league and the selection committee will visit the finalist on a game night. A winner from each league will be selected and recognized at the league championship games the week of February 13th.
Upload your video to YouTube by the January 22th (noon) deadline and then email the link to admin [at] Battle-of-the-Fans.com. The selection committee will visit each of the finalists on a home game night. They will observe the student section and meet with the school’s student leaders to discuss their experiences and how BOTF has impacted their culture. Selecting a Winner After the finalist visits, the selection committee will determine the winner in each league based on the criteria listed above. School enrollment will not impact selecting a winner as the committee will be looking a level of participation as a percentage of enrollment. All schools will have an equal opportunity to be the BOTF Champion! The winner from each league will be presented their award at the league championship games the week of February 13th at Santa Rosa Junior College.
